Rhode Island County Finder

Answer six questions and get Rhode Island counties ranked by habitat fit, 2026–27 season dates and public land.

How the Rhode Island finder works

Rhode Island DEM summarizes deer harvest by town, but its reports could not be downloaded for this site, so this tool scores the five counties on USGS land-cover and elevation data, the share of public land such as state wildlife management areas, season fit and location.

Season fit uses the 2026–2027 Rhode Island Hunting & Trapping Guide: archery, muzzleloader and shotgun deer seasons, the Block Island and Patience and Prudence island seasons, fall archery and spring turkey, stocked pheasant, quail and migratory birds.
