Alabama County Finder

Answer six questions and get Alabama counties ranked by habitat fit, 2026–27 season dates, public land and Game Check deer harvest.

How the Alabama finder works

Alabama requires Game Check for every deer and turkey. This tool scores all 67 counties for deer using the 2024–25 Game Check harvest by county, and for turkey on habitat and access, along with USGS land-cover and elevation data and the share of public land such as WMAs and the Bankhead, Talladega, Conecuh and Tuskegee National Forests.

Season fit uses the 2026–27 Alabama Hunting and Fishing Digest: archery, special youth and muzzleloader hunts and gun deer by zone (A–E and the CWD zone), and spring turkey by zone with Zone 3's fall season.
