Ohio County Finder

Answer six questions and get Ohio counties ranked by habitat fit, 2026–27 season dates, public land and ODNR harvest history.

How the Ohio finder works

The ODNR Division of Wildlife reports checked deer and turkey by county. This tool scores all 88 counties for the species you pick using the final 2025–26 deer harvest (archery and gun, antlered and antlerless), each county's 2024–25 total and 2021–23 average, spring 2026 turkey harvest with the 2023–25 average, USGS land-cover and elevation data, and the share of public land such as wildlife areas, state forests and Wayne National Forest.

Season fit uses ODNR's 2026–27 dates: statewide archery (Sept. 26–Feb. 7), youth gun, the week-long gun season and bonus weekend, muzzleloader, the disease surveillance area's early seasons, fall turkey in 70 counties and the spring turkey zones.
